1950s oak bureau by Gordon Russell
A blonde oak bureau dated 1956 by Gordon Russell.
A beautiful example of mid-century craftsmanship, this piece is the perfect writing desk for anybody looking for something compact but with lots of storage. It has a fold-down front lined in the original burgundy leather (no key) along with two drawers and two spacious compartments. Both compartments feature an adjustable shelf.
In good condition, it has been hand stripped and refinished. There are a few marks and dinks commensurate with age, as well as a stubborn stain on the bottom of the right-hand compartment (see photos). This has been reflected in the price.
