Late nineteenth-century Glastonbury chair

£165.00
sold out

A solid oak Glastonbury chair from the late nineteenth century.

Said to be based on a chair made for Richard Whiting, the last Abbot of Glastonbury, the Glastonbury-style chair was hugely popular among Victorians, who took inspiration from medieval and early designs.

Made from solid oak, it’s a perfect statement piece for any living space.

In good antique condition. There is some movement in the joints, however the chair is structurally sound and safe to sit on. There is some wear and tear to the wedges for the tusk tenon joints (see photos), which has been reflected in the price.

Dimensions:

82cm H

64cm W

63cm D
